The Reds, with a make shift back four for some part of the season and covering keepers for the many games, came to just a point of winning their fourth consecutive title. Ryan Giggs was rested for a month at the age 36 before a crucial game with Aston Villa saw him sidelined for a further month. However, with the Reds missing out on some top trophies, Ryan Giggs was a great joy to watch.
