When Zizou was in possession of the ball, an ‘Olé!’ was never far away. He was the undisputed creative genius whenever he stepped on the field, with playmaking skills beyond those of Xavi and the shot from distance, though often a concealed weapon, as searing as that of Steven Gerrard and ball skills as majestic as Ronaldinho in his prime. Zinedine Zidane was a great player and is worthy of being mentioned in the same breath as Pele and Maradona. Zidane had a fantastic career, how sad he left the most shameful episode of it until the end. He was the greatest player since Maradona, maybe even greater but as with the Argentine, we should remember the moments of genius rather than the moments of madness; it was a crazy ending to a fantastic career. Thank You Zizou.
